8 Small Businesses to Support in 2021 (BIPOC and Minority Owned)

The holiday season is in full swing and even though Black Friday may be over, there’s no better time to shop some of my favorite BIPOC and minority owned small businesses.

This year has been extremely hard for all of us, especially those who have small businesses. Nationwide shutdowns have forever affected the we shop and big time retailers are doing all they can to keep consumer eyes on their products and since they tend to have the budget, they do.

This means that small businesses have had a much harder time standing out in all the online noise. Historically, 20% of small businesses fail and this year is no exception.

With so much going on in the world, I urge you guys to help out small businesses as much as possible. Whether you purchase the products or simply, like, comment and share their posts online, I encourage you to do your part to help these small businesses survive the pandemic and online noise.

12 Life Changing Amazon Finds You Need To Get ASAP

1. Hairbrella

Hairbrella is simply AMAZING! It’s a one of a kind rain hat that’s waterproof, satin lined and fits right in your purse. All in all, it does not disappoint! You guys know I dye my hair all the time so when it rains, ya girl can’t be caught out in the rain or I will bleed color all over my clothes lol If you live in rainy or humid areas, hell, if you like to go hiking even, do yourself a favor and get yourself a Haibrella, I promise your life will be changed FOREVER! If you’d like to support Hairbrella feel free to use code CURATEDBYCYNTHIA20 and you will get 20% off your next purchase (I don’t make money off this, I simply love them so much I asked if I could get a code for your guys 🙂 )

2. Glam & Glo

Glam & Glo is one of my favorite online jewelry shops! It’s a Latina owned company that carries the latest and trendiest accessories at affordable prices. In the about page, the founder Gloria opens up about why she started Glam & Glo and its the most inspiring thing ever! Check out the shop and the story and be sure to give them a follow on IG and use CURATEDBYCYNTHIA10 if you’d like to shop their already affordable prices.

3. Conscious Step

One fun fact about me is that I love socks! Like seriously, I love receiving socks for any occasion. When it comes to fashion though, I like to avoid fast fashion brands and only purchase quality made goods so when I found out about Conscious Step, I fell in love with the patterns and the concept.

Conscious Step is such a unique brand, not only are they minority owned, the socks are ethically made from organically sourced cotton. To top it off, they partner with non-profits to give a percentage made on the sale back😭 Think of a cause and they have a sock for that, I personally bought myself some socks that save turtles, create homes, give books among a few others I got for stocking stuffers. If you check out the site and see something you like, be sure to use code CURATEDBYCYNTHIA20 for 20% of your purchase (yasss!!)

4. Orion CBD

CBD is not for everyone and I totally get it, however, if you’re in the market for a new CBD brand, I highly recommend Orion CBD. Orion CBD is a line of pure, single sourced CBD body care products designed to help elevate your quality of life. What makes Orion CBD different than other brands is that the products go through third-party testing facility to make sure the CBD is clean from any pesticides and heavy metals. Another reason why I highly recommend shopping Orion CBD is that they actively help fight hunger! A portion of every sale goes to buy meals for the homeless, how could you not support that!

5. Skalli Essentials

Skalli Essentials is one of my all time favorite body care and skin care brands. I had the chance to partner with them last winter when they newly launched and the products were absolutely amazing. The Moroccan Black Soap in particular kept my usually dry skin smooth and hydrated which I loved!

6. Gypsy Kits

Whether you’re going on a road trip, a weekend getaway or a full blown vacation, Gypsy Kits will have you covered. I know many of us aren’t traveling at the moment but these kits are still nice to have. I currently use mine to carry hand sanitizer in my purse and just refill the containers so I waste less.

7. Snibbs

If you’re an essential worker or have a family member that’s a chef, nurse, teacher, delivery driver, I ONE THOUSAND percent suggest getting them a pair or Snibbs Orthopedic shoes. Snibbs were created by a chef in partnership with Dr. Snibbe and are water resistant, slip resistant, made from vegan friendly materials and provide all day comfort. My mom is CRNA so I purchased a pair for her and she absolutely loves them! They are a little on the pricier side so if you’re interested in getting a pair, feel free to use my code CURATEDBYCYNTHIA20 which they were kind enough to provide for my readers (I also don’t make any $$ from this.)

8. Your Journey Beauty

One of my favorite newly- launched brands is Your Journey Beauty. Your Journey Beauty is a cruelty-free, vegan friendly and handmade skin care line. According to the shop owner, the line itself took 3 years to perfect and every ingredient has a purpose. I was fortunate enough to receive the Hibiscus Serum and I have seen such a difference in my skin. Its definitely more glowy and balanced and it doesn’t hurt that I have received a ton of compliments either 😉

Be sure to check out all these brands and give them a follow if you can’t purchase now.
