An influencer network is a good way to start your journey as an upcoming influencer and eventually get paid to promote some of your favorite products!
If you’re new to the Instagram game or an aspiring influencer, you know it’s kind of hard to get information from others if you’re not already their friend. It’s almost like a top-secret society where top influencers charge smaller influencers to gain insight into the influencer world and landing collaborations.
Don’t let that shit fool you guys! You don’t need to spend hundreds and thousands in master classes to just end up with a few brand collaborations. There are plenty of FREE resources to help guide you as a new influencer.
Success can be measured in different ways and no one is guaranteed the same outcome when it comes to influencing. Being an influencer is definitely a give-and-take type of gig. You get as much out of it as you put in and no masterclass with magically make you an influencer overnight. Including anything I write. Your best bet to becoming a successful influencer is to be authentic, be yourself and join a few influencer networks to help you get noticed by brands.

What is an influencer network?
According to Media Kix, an influencer network is a professional organization that seeks to manage influencers and facilitate influencer marketing collaborations between the platform and brands seeking to leverage an influencer’s audience.
In short, an influencer network is a middleman between the brand and the influencer.
Brands typically pay a monthly service fee to a designated influencer network to run campaigns and access their influencer database including influencer insights, engagements and past collaborations.
It is worth noting that each influencer network has its own criteria for whom they let join. This means that a minimum number of followers or blog views/visits are required before you have access to the network’s campaigns.
Why Should I join influencer networks?
If you’re looking to monetize your content or simply get your foot in the door as an influencer, joining an influencer network can help get you brand collaborations even if you just started you’re under 10K.
Pro’s and Con’s of influencer networks
Pros
- you get to work with some of your fav brands
- some collabs are paid
- you chose what collabs to apply for
- anyone with a following can get accepted
- good way to start getting products featured on your Instagram
- can get kicked out
Cons
- you don’t really build a relationship with the brand and campaigns are usually “one-offs”
- competition can be real
- mostly low-paying or gifted opportunities unless you have a large following
- certain influencers are sometimes promoted over others, even if they are not the best fit for a brands campaign
Are there alternative ways to get brand collaborations?
Aside from joining influencer networks, other ways to land brand collaborations include, pitching yourself to the brand, meeting brand reps at events or getting a manager to find collaborations for you.
How can I join influencer networks?
Joining influencer networks is easy. You simply go to the site of the network you want to join and select “sign up.” Each influencer network has its own criteria for who they accept so don’t be too bummed if you don’t get a few (I’m still not eligible for a handful.)
